First Time For Everything

With 2010 just around the corner, I thought I'd make some New Years resolutions.  Before we take a peek at this list of self-improvements, it should probably be known that I NEVER EVER EVER make New Year's resolutions. Well, I guess there's a first time for everything right?  YES!  So, here goes...

1. Become more assertive
I'll be honest with you, I'm a push over (big shocker huh?!).  I've been called "too nice" countless times & was even voted "friendliest girl" my senior year of high school. It's going to be tough to be....tough but let's face it, I'm done with people walking all over me.

2.  Keep up with laundry
Before you pass judgment about my cleanliness, stop & know that I am a clean person....I just hate laundry with the fire of a thousand suns.  Can't stand it.  However, when I can't find an article of clothing because of my hatred towards laundry, we have a problem.  (and yes, I am one of those people who smell their pants or shirts to see if it's clean or dirty.)   2010 will be full of Downey & Tide but that's a sacrifice I must make.  Damn.

3. Early to sleep AND to rise
Spring semester is 3 weeks away and though I don't have my schedule yet, I'm pretty sure this whole "go to bed at 3 am & wake up anywhere between 9 & 11 am" thing is a little on the lazy side.  Plus, I'm wasting my day.

4. Read one and ONLY ONE book at a time
You're probably like "How hard is that?"  Well for me it's extremely difficult.  For instance, right now I'm reading Time Travelers Wife, I Am America (And So Can You), & Running With Scissors.  That's THREE DIFFERENT BOOKS people!  (Actually, Running With Scissors is just stupid so let's check that one off the list)

5. Better time management
I've always come around on my own time & I DON'T like being rushed.  This started while I was still in the womb (no joke, I was supposed to be born on Feb 3rd but was bound & determined to wait until 4 minutes after midnight) but after being hounded 25 years of my life, it's time to change that annoying habit.  For those of you who have to give me a 15 minute window for arrival, fear no more...and thank you for putting up with me.

Well, there it is.  Hard evidence should I ever slip up & forget.  There are some other things that could be added but as I always say, "Little by little we will do better; big things get done little by little."  Have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. #1 - there is a book called 'Speaking the Truth in Love' its about beign an assertive christian and how Jesus was assertive and great examples in life. I recommend. I actually just bought another copy off Amazon for $3. Check into it. (Actually I think I just sabotaged your 'Read one book at a time')

    So excited about your blog!
